Become a PADI Staff Instructor In Pattaya
During the PADI Staff instructor course with Dive Right Pro dive academy you will train collectively with both a 5 star PADI IDC (Instructor Development Centre) as well as a PADI CDC (Career Development Centre).
As a PADI staff instructor candidate, you will be assessed on your dive instructor knowledge and skill demonstrations whilst trained to evaluate and mentor the PADI Instructor Development system. Along site other staff instructors, Master Instructors and PADI Courses directors you will learn how to evaluate students during their presentations on PADI IDC Courses.
You will also develop the skills to deliver IDC curriculum presentations and gain insight into effectively mentoring and guiding instructional candidates.
The PADI IDC Staff Instructor course often transforms the way you approach teaching, encouraging you to refine your instructional style for greater efficiency and safety.
IDC Staff Course Outline
During your PADI IDC Staff Instructor course, you will receive presentations from a PADI Course Director covering the procedures and standards required for the role. You’ll learn how to assess Open Water, Confined Water, and Knowledge Development teaching presentations, first by reviewing pre-recorded examples and matching your evaluations to PADI’s grading criteria. Later, while auditing an IDC, you’ll practice grading real presentations alongside the Course Director and other IDC Staff Instructors.
As part of the course, you will also deliver a Knowledge Development and Confined Water presentation, similar to those on your own PADI IDC and IE, which will be evaluated by the Course Director. Additionally, you’ll need to demonstrate proficiency by repeating the 24-skill circuit from the PADI Divemaster course.
The final step involves retaking the dive theory and PADI Standards exams—tests you have already passed multiple times and have been teaching, making them a familiar challenge. The course concludes with a full IDC audit, giving you firsthand experience of how a well-structured IDC is conducted.
Upon successful completion, you will be authorized to teach portions of the PADI Instructor Development Course under the guidance of a PADI Course Director and independently conduct the PADI Assistant Instructor program.
