What Experience is Required for Tech Diving?
Technical diving requires a strong foundation in advanced diving skills, including deep diving, enriched air nitrox use, and extensive underwater experience.
If you’re looking to progress into technical diving but don’t yet meet the prerequisites, our Master Diver Internship is the perfect way to build the necessary skills and experience. This program will take you through key specialties like Deep Diver and Nitrox, while also helping you log the required dives to qualify for technical training.
By gaining hands-on experience in a structured, progressive way, you’ll develop confidence in advanced diving techniques—ensuring you’re fully prepared to take the next step into technical diving when the time comes.
Requirements
🔹 Min Age 18 years
🔹 PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent
🔹 Enriched air diver or equivalent
🔹 Deep diver or equivalent
🔹 Minimum dives Have a minimum of 100 logged dives – 20 dives on enriched air nitrox deeper than 18 metres/60 feet and 15 dives on air deeper than 30 metres/100 feet

Who is the Technical Diving Internship for?
Do I need prior technical diving experience to join?
No, but you must meet the minimum entry requirements, including Advanced Open Water certification, Deep Diver, Nitrox certification, and at least 100 logged dives. If you don’t yet have these qualifications, we recommend starting with a Master Diver Internship to build experience before entering technical training.
How long does the Technical Diving Internship take?
The duration varies depending on the package. Entry-level technical training can be completed in 10 days, while full internships that take you through Trimix diving last up to 43 days, including extensive boat dives, classroom sessions, and practical workshops.
Can I continue to technical wreck diving after this?
👉 Yes! Our program prepares you for Advanced Technical Wreck Diving, including decompression, mixed gas, and penetration diving. We have a full technical diving program too which you could move onto after this wreck diver training into a full technical diving internship
Do I need to buy special equipment for Tech diver trainig?
No, we provide all the necessary technical dive equipment for your TEC REC training. However, if you’re looking to build your own kit for Tec diving we offer a 20% discount on dive gear for our students.
